Generational Differences
Communication between generations is needed but understanding an individual’s generational tendency and internal messaging is the first step in finding resolution within the multi-generational workforce. Tamber Bustance from the Diversity Learning Center will facilitate Generational Differences on Monday February 13 from 2 – 4 PM. This interactive session will provide a great opportunity to discover the best ways to communicate in an generational diverse community.
Conflict Resolution
Learning new strategies of conflict resolution and improve communication while finding productive ways to manage disputes and disagreements. This session will help you to expand conflict management skills, understand your own emotions and behaviors when addressing conflict and find productive ways to manage conflict. David Beighley, from Beighley Consulting Service, will facilitate Conflict Resolution on Monday February 20, 2012 from 2:30 – 4:30 PM in 246 Main.
Interviewing for Success
What message do you communicate on job interviews? Your choice of language tells employers who you are professionally and your potential to work well for their organization. This session will prepare participants not only for what questions to participate, but also how to authentically express their knowledge, skills and abilities. MaryBeth Beighley will provide tip on Interviewing for Success on Wednesday February 22, 2012 from 1 – 2:30 PM in 206 Sneden Hall.
Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is gaining attention because it influences one’s interpersonal effectiveness. This session will introduce participants to emotional intelligence, explores an assessment of emotional intelligence, and demonstrates methods to enhance emotional intelligence. On Monday February 27, 2012 MaryBeth Beighley will provide means to assess emotional intelligence, identify strategies to integrate work with emotional intelligence and much more. Emotional Intelligence will be held from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM in 226 Main.
Cross Cultural Communication
This learning session will touch on how people from various cultures can view the same thing very differently and that difference may impede understanding. Tamber Bustance, from the Diversity Learning Center, will bring insight to effective cross cultural communication.
