Meet & Confer Pay for Performance Overview

Performance management is about creating a work environment that helps GRCC meets its goals. Our performance evaluation tool is intended to engage employees and inspire greater employee commitment, clarify roles and responsibilities and hold our employees accountable, and improve the overall performance of GRCC and our goals for student success. The session will be an overview of the pay for performance evaluation system.
United Way Schools of Hope

THIS LEARNING OPPORTUNITY IS A COLLABORATION BETWEEN GRCC AND GVSU AND WILL BE FACILITATED BY THE HUMAN RESOURCES CAREER SERVICES OFFICE AT GVSU: ‘United Way Schools of Hope Tutoring and Training Program (Healthy Choices Option): Schools of Hope represents the Heart of West Michigan United Way’s Literacy strategy to close the reading achievement gap between third-grade students in Grand Rapids Public Schools and those in Kent County’s highest scoring districts. Be a volunteer and sign up as a reading tutor. The commitment is only 30 minutes per week. With supervisor approval, no vacation or personal time will be lost to participate. Each first time tutor is required to undergo one two hour training program.

Whether you’re interested in a resume makeover or starting from scratch, this session helps participants assess their strengths and create a paper sales document about themselves. We will walk through the basic steps in writing a resume and cover letter that fairly promotes your strengths and experiences.

The Institute for Healing Racism is a powerful and thought provoking venue that brings together diverse groups of people to explore and address issues of race and racism. Participants have the opportunity to examine how the dis-ease of racism affects all people and develop skills to detect institutional racism in our daily environments (i.e. home, workplace, community, organization and business).
