The latest exhibition at the GRCC Collins Art Gallery (running October 5-30) is a series of 2D photographs covering projects by artist Paho Mann spanning the past 10 years (1999-2009). Accompanying the exhibition will be a reception and lecture by Mann on Monday October 5, from 6:00 p.m. – 8 p.m.
These various bodies of work represent his ongoing investigation of consumer culture through the stuff we own and consume. Central to Mann’s understanding of these works is that looking at what we own and consume reveals something about our identity and culture, and that this examination underlines the importance of making thoughtful choices in what we do with these objects. The GRCC Collins Art Gallery is located on the 4th floor of the Main Building.
