Faculty & Staff Forum: 10/28/09

This month’s topic is “Leadership Development at GRCC – Options for Everyone.”  As GRCC enters a new and transformational era, leadership development is more important than ever. Learn about the array of options that faculty and staff have to develop leadership competencies. The inaugural offerings of the Leadership Coaching Institute and the Leaders Institute will be described, as well as leadership development that occurs through New Employee Orientation. Other learning opportunities focused on leadership will also be highlighted.

The forum will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in rooms 122/124 ATC beginning at 1:45 with a time for Coffee & Connect. The Forum/Presentation is 2:00 – 3:00.

GRCC Crocheters/Knitters

The Donated Items.

An unofficial GRCC group was formed in January 2009 – the GRCC Crocheters/Knitters.   These 13 individuals have accepted donations of yarn and given their time over the past ten months to hand-make items that will be donated to the Grand Rapids Veterans Hospital.  All told, this group has crafted 50 scarves, 6 lapghans, 2 hats, and a pair of slippers which will be delivered this week.  The group’s next project is crafting scarves, hats and mittens for families in need at both GRCC and elswhere in the city.

Education Transfer Fair a Success

The Education Transfer Fair was a huge success. On Wednesday November 14th, 8 colleges sent representatives from their education department to meet with students and discuss options. Nearly 100 GRCC education students took the opportunity to look into various colleges and weigh their options once they graduate from GRCC.
