Automotive Technician Job Training Now Offers Night Program

Due to high demand, GRCC now offers this its Automotive Technician Job Training program as both a day program and a night program (the cost and time commitment for both programs is the same). The new program runs Monday-Thursday from 3:00 pm -10:00pm and Friday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.  The Automotive Technician is required to be certified and licensed in the State of Michigan. As an Automotive Mechanic Technician, one’s job will is to diagnose and repair customer vehicles. Licensed technicians will use precision diagnostic equipment, service manuals and hands-on power tools to provide high tech, timely, and quality service.  The first cycle of the new night program begins January 11, 2009 and runs through May 14, 2009.

GRCC’s Secchia Institute Adds New Course: CA 251 – Personal and Private Chef

As profiled recently in Rapid Growth, GRCC’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education is now offering CA 251 – Personal and Private Chef, opening another avenue for students to pursue as a career. The announcement of this new course kicked off with an event featuring Candy Wallace, founder of the American Personal and Private Chef Association (APPCA) . Financial Services Leads the United Way “Give a Ton” Food Drive

After one week, Financial services set the lead with 7.27 pounds of food donated per person. If your team has not registered yet, the Academic Service Learning Center and United Way team will still accept your registration. Congratulations to Financial Services for setting the bar for week one. Week two’s results will be released next Monday.  Prizes will be awarded to the three teams with the highest pounds donated per team member.

IIPD Grants Due November 20, 2009

The deadline for submission of grant applications for the Instructional Improvement & Professional Development (IIPD) program is 4:30 p.m., November 20 , 2009. Please note that the IIPD Guidelines and all application forms have been revised . The revised application packet and Guidelines are available in the GRCC Internal Grants area of the Grants Office website at www.grcc.edu/grants. Applications should be delivered to the GRCC Foundation Office, 1st floor, College Park Plaza.
