Due to high demand, GRCC now offers this its Automotive Technician Job Training program as both a day program and a night program (the cost and time commitment for both programs is the same). The new program runs Monday-Thursday from 3:00 pm -10:00pm and Friday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. The Automotive Technician is required to be certified and licensed in the State of Michigan. As an Automotive Mechanic Technician, one’s job will is to diagnose and repair customer vehicles. Licensed technicians will use precision diagnostic equipment, service manuals and hands-on power tools to provide high tech, timely, and quality service. The first cycle of the new night program begins January 11, 2009 and runs through May 14, 2009.

As profiled recently in Rapid Growth, GRCC’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education is now offering CA 251 – Personal and Private Chef, opening another avenue for students to pursue as a career. The announcement of this new course kicked off with an event featuring Candy Wallace, founder of the American Personal and Private Chef Association (APPCA) .
