College Advancement: What do they do? Who does what?

Over the past several months there have been changes taking place in the “development” side of the College Advancement Office. The purpose of this half (Development Office) of the College Advancement Office is to seek funding to support GRCC priorities. Here’s the team and individual responsibilities.  They exist to serve the rest of the College, so if you have ideas please contact them.  They will do everything they can to help fund the priorities of the College and Departments within the College.

The College Advancement Office is located in College Park Plaza (first floor and mezzanine).

Andrew BowneAndy Bowne, Associate Vice President for College Advancement (x3932)
Andy is responsible for the overall operations of the College Advancement Office, including the GRCC Foundation, Alumni Relations, Grants, and Communications/Public Relations. He serves as the Executive Director of the GRCC Foundation and is responsible for donor cultivation, major gifts, planned giving, and all campaigns.

Ann Marie Birr Ann Marie Birr, College Advancement Secretary (x3939)
Ann Marie provides front line support for the College Advancement Office. She is the point person for the McCabe Marlowe House. When you’re not sure who to contact in College Advancement, Ann Marie is your best starting point.

GRCC FOUNDATION

Trish CastiglioneTrish Castiglione, Director of Annual Giving (x3739)
Trish is responsible for Annual Giving campaigns (yearly requests), the annual GRCC Foundation event, retiree relations efforts, etc. Trish is “second in command” for the GRCC Foundation.

Bertha ChivisBertha Chivis, Coordinator of Donor Relations & Scholarships (x3025)
Bertha does the work that Erin used to do. Contact Bertha when you have questions regarding pledges, scholarships, giving, etc. She does all of the entry and receipting for gifts to the GRCC Foundation.

ALUMNI RELATIONS

Erin CislerErin Cisler, Manager of Alumni & Donor Relations (x3931)
Erin is our new leader of alumni relations work. She also is the leader for PeopleSoft/Contributor Relations. Erin is the “problem solver” for the department including giving history, financial matters, etc.

GRANTS OFFICE

Judith LarsenJudith Larsen, Director of Grants & Resource Development (x3910)
Judith is the senior grant writer for the College. She oversees all grant submissions and grant reporting. Judith also manages the IIPD and SSPD processes.

Lisa DopkeLisa Dopke, Grants Coordinator (x3340)
Lisa is the second grant writer for the College. In addition, she oversees the grants management database and assists with grant reporting, IIPD and SSPD processes, etc.

GRCC Employee Holiday Breakfast (12/18/09)

The annual GRCC Employee Holiday Breakfast will be held on Friday, December 18 at 7:30 a.m. in the Fieldhouse. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased from the following “Elves”:

Tickets must be purchased by Monday, December 14. Sorry, no tickets will be sold at the door.  This breakfast is hosted by the President’s Office and the Personal Enrichment Team.

College roundup: Grand Rapids Community College men edge Hope JV in overtime

The Grand Rapids Community College men’s basketball team needed overtime Friday night to beat Hope College’s JV, 84-75, in the Muskegon CC Pepsi Thanksgiving Classic.  GRCC’s Quinntrai Lampkins led all scorers with 25 points.  (More)
