Student Employee of the Year Nominations Due 2/15/10

Do you know how important Student Employees are to GRCC? The lifeguard at the pool, the person who answers calls at the Enrollment Center and the tutor who assists students in obtaining academic success is likely a Student Employee.  Most departments rely heavily on their students and consider them a vital part of their day to day operations. As one supervisor stated recently, “we would be sunk without our students.”  Most would agree with this statement!

With all of this in mind, Student Employment Services is proud to announce the ninth annual “Student Employee of the Year” recognition program. This award is designed to recognize and reward students for excellent service to our institution.

Please take the time to nominate a Student Employee who you feel is deserving of this recognition. The winners will be announced at the Student Leadership Reception on Friday, April 23. Winners will receive the following:

  • First Place: $250 and a plaque
  • Second Place: $150
  • Third Place: $75

Keep in mind that you do not have to be the direct supervisor of the Student Employee you want to nominate. It could be a Student Employee who assists in supporting you or your department. The selected student will have the opportunity to compete at the state level and ultimately could be selected as the National Student Employee of the Year.  Questions may be directed to Chris Allen at callen@grcc.edu or ph: 616-234-3738.   Download: Nomination Form (.doc) | Guidelines (.doc)
