MICUP Students Display Posters

Last week, some students in the MICUP Program displayed their posters on the third floor of the student services building.

The MICUP Program is a partnership between GRCC and Michigan Tech funded unded the King Chavez Parks Initiative with the goal of  encouraging community college students (especially those who are low-income and/or first generation) to further their studies and obtain a baccalaureate degree at a four-year institution.  The program offers the students a unique seven-week summer research/internship experience at Michigan Tech.  The posters are the culmination project of the seven-week experience.

The MICUP program is housed within the TRiO/Student Support Services Program here at CC.   There have been about 50 students over the past seven years participating in the program.  Applications for the summer 2010 are due on January 29.
