GRCC board approves $68,200 for consultants to explore parity of school’s salaries

GRAND RAPIDS — Grand Rapids Community College has hired an Ann Arbor consultant to compare salaries to those in other institutions after concerns from President Steven Ender they might be “unsustainable.” The comparison, which will include schools in and out Michigan, is expected to be wrapped up in late spring. GRCC Business faculty Mary Barnum and Brent Spitler are serving as advisors for the debut of the annual student Business Plan competition. GRCC students will face off with oral and written presentations on Wednesday, March 31st in the ATC auditorium. The top three Grand Rapids Community College business plan authors will receive cash awards and the first place winner will advance to an inter-collegiate competition at Grand Valley State University, with the potential for additional public recognition and larger cash awards.
