Faculty member Chef Angus Campbell and several first-year students in GRCC’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education were at the West Michigan Home and Garden Show all weekend promoting one of the best culinary schools in the nation (ours) with cooking demonstrations.

GRCC Dial-up Internet Access Ending in May

The server that has provided Dial-up Internet access to GRCC Staff and Student who lived locally to Grand Rapids is being retired.  After reviewing the usage and economical impact, GRCC’s cabinet has determined that it is no longer feasible to maintain the “Modem Pool Server”. As of May 2nd, 2010, the server will be taken offline.

GRCC Staff and Students are welcome to use our facilities on campus to access the internet. Open Computer Labs are located across campus. For a full list of locations, click here.

AGC Meeting 3/9/2010

The next Academic Governing Council (AGC) meeting will be Tuesday, March 9th at 3:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose room of the Student Community Center.  During this meeting AGC representatives will

  • receive an update about mandatory placement including prerequisites
  • learn about Mary Barnum’s Fall 2009 sabbatical experience
  • asked for input regarding Student Code of Conduct processes
  • receive information about legal issues facing community colleges
  • receive an update regarding internationalizing GRCC’s curriculum
  • discuss the latest draft of the student No Show grading policy
