Harding grad eyes spot with Ravens: Reggie Smith will miss college graduation to attend rookie camp.

Former Harding High School football star Reggie Smith will miss his graduation ceremonies May 8 at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. He has a good excuse. Smith will be in rookie camp, trying to land a job with the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens. […] Smith played quarterback in high school, leading Harding to the state championship game as a senior. He then spent two years at Grand Rapids Community College, earning awards for his skills as a return man. (More)
Haley Stehouwer helps fledgling Davenport University softball team find success

GRAND RAPIDS — After two seasons at Grand Rapids Community College, Haley Stehouwer had options for continuing her collegiate softball career. The former Rogers High School all-state catcher had the attention of the established programs at Aquinas College and Ferris State University, which had shown interest since her high school days. Lessac voice training workshop on tap

A certified master teacher from the Lessac Research and Training Institute will teach an Introduction to Lessac Voice and Body Training Workshop, 1-9 p.m. May 14 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. May 15. The two-day workshop, co-sponsored by Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, is designed for anyone who wants a warm, rich voice that will attract attention. (More)
