Congratulations to the GRCC “Captain Raiders” for the Second Place Finish in the Annual World Affairs Council “World Quest Competition”. The stellar group of scholars also known as Intellectual Assassins totaled an amazing 47 or 48 points (depending on which score sheet being counted). The team from Steelcase either tied GRCC, or won the competition by one point (again, depending on the score sheet). GRCC’s team was unified, and focused through most of the contest. Upon completion, the consensus was…”If only we knew the capitol of Trinidad…”!
The team – choosing to accentuate the positive, instead of dwelling on what could have been, – went to the Elbow Room on Fuller St for a post-competition celebration and toasted the success.

Energetx to build turbine blades for Spanish firm

Holland, MI — A closer relationship with the Spanish design firm Aeroblade could mean more work for the Holland-based Energetx Composites. The spin-off of Tiara Yachts announced on Wednesday that it would be producing wind turbine blades for Aeroblade’s North American customers. […] The company recently hired nine workers who completed a composites training program through Grand Rapids Community College at the Tiara Yachts/Energetx complex.
