Academic Support Tutor Training

On Wednesday, August 25, 130 new and returning tutors arrived on campus for Academic Support’s Semi-annual all Tutor Training.  New tutors experienced an inspiring talk from Master Tutor Trainer and past president of the Association of Tutoring Projessionals, Jim Valkenburg.  This was followed by a practical “Role of the Tutor” session from the Director of Developmental and Academic Support, Raju Hegde, and a campus-wide Scavenger Hunt.  All tutors enjoyed some fun lunch-time activities followed by an informative talk by Mary Beth Van Till on generational differences.
