WE Team Offerings: Yoga and Zumba

[Note date/time changes] From Employee Professional Development & Enrichment. The WE Team invites you to participate in the following courses:
  • Lunchtime Yoga will be held from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. on Fridays beginning October 1. This time slot will allow participants “travel/prep” time at the beginning and end of the session.  There will be 2 five week courses — Course 1: Begins October 1 and concludes October 29; Course 2: Begins November 5 and concludes December 10 (NOTE: Yoga will not be held during Thanksgiving week.)  The cost is $15 for each five week course, which is payable prior to the start of the course.  Payment should be sent to Employee Professional Development & Enrichment – Admin Bldg – DeVos Campus.  Make checks payable to GRCC.
  • Zumba will be held from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning October 27.  This time will allow participants “travel/prep” time after their work day.  There will be 2 five week courses — Course 1: Begins September 29 and concludes October 27 with Course 2 beginning November 3 and concluding December 8 (NOTE: Zumba will not be held during Thanksgiving week.).  The cost is $15 for each five week course, which is payable prior to the start of the course.  Payment should be sent to Employee Professional Development & Enrichment – Admin Bldg – DeVos Campus.  Make checks payable to GRCC.

Constitution Day Activities (9/16/10)

In observation of Constitution Day, GRCC is pleased to host a panel discuss on our Constitution and current events featuring GRCC Political Science faculty, and local representative of the ACLU. This conversation will be moderated by Nicholas Wikar, GRCC Student Congress President.

WCCCD, other community colleges hurt in budget deal

Lansing — Wayne County Community College District will lose $679,000 in renaissance zone reimbursements in the community college budget approved by the Senate and House today.  While general operations cash from the state will remain the same as last year, 23 of Michigan’s 28 community colleges will lose money with the elimination of state reimbursements for renaissance zones. In total, community colleges will lose almost $2.9 million.
