WCCCD, other community colleges hurt in budget deal

Lansing — Wayne County Community College District will lose $679,000 in renaissance zone reimbursements in the community college budget approved by the Senate and House today. While general operations cash from the state will remain the same as last year, 23 of Michigan’s 28 community colleges will lose money with the elimination of state reimbursements for renaissance zones.
