Yesterday, GRCC’s second annual Peace Studies Conference “Conflict Resolution: Challenges, Successes, and Failures of Supranational and International Organizations” kicked off in the Applied Technology Center. The conference runs September 27-29, 2010 and features speakers from Africa, the Middle East, Ireland, and the U.S., as well as local and GRCC experts.

Reps from 66 colleges at fair – Chance for high schoolers to check out choices

Holland, MI — Sixty-six colleges will be on hand for this year’s Holland Area College Fair. The fair on Thursday will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the DeVos Fieldhouse on Hope College’s campus. State universities to be on hand include Big Ten schools like the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Ohio State University and smaller schools like Muskegon Community College and Grand Rapids Community College, as well as private schools such as Calvin, Saint Mary’s and Olivet. Print Solutions Working on Printer/Copier Errors
Since last week, the campus has been experiencing an error message on the printer/copiers around campus. There is a group looking at the situation and are working to determine why this is happening and how it can be fixed. In the mean time if you can copy in a different area or send your print/copy needs to Print Solutions, and they can assist you in getting what you need.
Wednesday: Peace Pole Dedication & Peace Pledge Banner Signing
As part of the Peace Studies Conference, a peace pledge banner is on display all day tomorrow (Wednesday, September 29, 2010) and all are invited to stop by between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Bostwick Commons and sign it.
In addition, there will be a dedication ceremony for a Peace Pole on campus conducted by GRCC President Dr. Steven Ender at 4:15 p.m. on Bostwick Commons right outside of the Main Building (the dedication should last around 15 minutes).

Traffic Notice: Michigan St. Closed 9/27/10-10/3/10
The Facilities and Campus Police departments want the college to be aware that Michigan St. will be closed from Division to Coit on 9/27/10-10/3/10 for the removal of a construction crane. The eastbound detour is Ottawa to Fountain to Lafayette to Michigan, and the westbound detour is Lafayette to Lyon to Ionia to Michigan.
