Alternative energy – what is it an alternative to? Understanding the existing energy infrastructure is essential for plotting the path to a sustainable energy future. Learn where our energy comes from now, how it’s converted and distributed, and the back story of the issues we see in the headlines. GRCC Instructor, Sara Yob, will tell you more about:

  • Electric power generation, its fuels, the grid and current issues
  • What’s driving energy use and demand
  • Environmental cost (fossil fuels/carbon issue) for today’s power generation
  • Economic argument and current incentives for energy efficiency and renewable
  • Issues and opportunities in changeover to electric transportation
