Barbara Martinez Jitner, Filmmaker, Human Rights Activist will present “On the Boarder of A New America: Wall of Shadows” tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain NE as part of GRCC’s Diversity Lecture Series (www.grcc.edu/lecture).
Barbara Martinez Jitner is the inspiration behind the 2008 film Bordertown, based on her research of the Mexican town of Juarez, notorious for the murders of over 400 women. Martinez Jitner studies the legacy of Latinos in the U.S. and how what is happening at our southern border affects this community and the entire country, creating a dichotomy in the Latino national identity.
