Holland, MI — If you appreciate intricate, subtly detailed works of art carved from 300- pound blocks of ice, of if you just like seeing people wielding chain saws, blow torches and other assorted power tools in the open air, downtown Holland is the place to be this weekend.

Late surge lifts Kalamazoo Valley Community College men’s basketball team

The Kalamazoo Valley Community College men’s basketball team surged in the second half to overcome Grand Rapids Community College, 76-64, Wednesday on the road. A Povilas Gaidys bucket tied the game at 53-all midway through the second half before the Cougars took control — finishing the game on a 23-11 run — in both teams’ Michigan Community College Athletic Association West Division opener.
