GRCC faculty are ‘highly compensated’ compared to similar colleges, according to study

GRAND RAPIDS – Grand Rapids Community College professors are “highly compensated” compared to similar colleges in the region, and the disparity widens with seniority, according to a study commissioned by the school. The report – which was called “invalid” by the faculty union – shows professors at the top of the scale earn about 8.9 percent more than other community college in the region. And part-time professors are paid nearly 60 percent more than those in the peer group.  (More)

GRAND RAPIDS – Everything’s all fun and chess games until a giant knight made of ice topples and dramatically explodes on Rosa Park Circle’s ice rink. Chunks of intricately carved ice went skidding across the public outdoor skating rink, upon which a black 15-by-15-foot chessboard had been painted on Tuesday.  (More)

WYOMING — Tom Siver thinks he has the prescription to turn around Lee’s football program. The Rebels have won only one game the past three seasons.
