Elias Lumpkins announces re-election run for Grand Rapids City Commission

GRAND RAPIDS – Third Ward City Commissioner Elias Lumpkins announced today he will seek re-election this year. “After giving this much prayer and thought, I’ve decided that I have more to give to the great city of Grand Rapids,” Lumpkins said in an announcement released today.  (More)

Eric Williams to Assume New Position with President’s Office

Eric Williams has accepted the position of Executive Director for Equity, Community, and Legislative Affairs, effective February 1, 2011.   In his new role, Eric will supervise the Director of the Woodrick Diversity Learning Center and the Director of the Older Learner Center; spearhead community outreach on behalf of the College; serve as GRCC’s governmental affairs representative at all levels of government; and serve as a member of the president’s cabinet.

Reminder: SSPD Grant Due Date Coming Up 1/28/11

The deadline for the submission of grant applications for the Support Staff Professional Development (SSPD) program is 4:30 p.m., January 28, 2011. The SSPD application packet and SSPD Guidelines are available in the GRCC Internal Grants area of the Grants Office website at www.grcc.edu/grants. Please note that applications must include a Supervisor’s Approval form, a budget form and budget documentation.
