GR Sustainability Partnership Sets 2011 Goals

The greater Grand Rapids Community Sustainability Partnership has formed a new leadership team, appointed by Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell, Grand Valley State University President Thomas J. Haas, and Grand Rapids Community College President Steven C. Ender, and has set goals for 2011 to help maintain Grand Rapids’ status as the most sustainable mid-size city in the United States.  (More)

Carl Levin, Michigan’s senior U.S. senator, will speak in Grand Rapids Monday at an event organized by the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan. The Southfield Democrat and long-time chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee will discuss “prospects for success in Afghanistan” at noon at Sneden Hall on the DeVos Campus of Grand Rapids Community College Campus (formerly Davenport University’s downtown site.)  (More)
