Sack Supper Food Drive 3/1/11-3/31/11

GRCC’s Education Department is putting on a Sack Supper Food Drive from March 1-31, 2011 that will benefit Kids Food Basket.  As highlighted by a recent article in the Grand Rapids Press, food instability is a problem for many children in our community.  From KFB’s website: “Between 2000 and 2006, children ages 5 to 17 living in poverty increased from 9% to 16% in Kent County. Today, 30,000 children in Kent County live in poverty.”

Professor Vicki Meyers Case Study on Camtasia Relay

Professor Vicki Meyers in the Nursing Department highlights the use of Camtasia Relay to capture lectures for her students.  “As a faculty member in the Nursing Department, I am always looking for ways in which my students can access content outside of class. Because we cover a large amount of material (often through Powerpoint) that is often highly complex and technical, students often desire to review the content again at a later date.” More here.
