Raider Salute to Participants and Supporters of Earth Day Service Event
This salute comes from the Academic Service Learning Department:
“The Academic Service Learning Center would like to send a HUGE thank you to the participants and supporters of Friday’s Earth Day Service Event. This event brought together 135 GRCC participants, 84 participants from Godfrey Lee and 124 from Kelloggsville. These 3 groups intermingled and were spread out between 14 different service projects spanning the cities of Grand Rapids, Kentwood and Wyoming. The participants of the day made huge strides in the beautification of Greater Grand Rapids and came together over lunch to reflect on the meaning behind Earth Day.
An extra special thank you to following individuals, among others, who contributed in a very vital way to the success of our event.
Facilities: Rick VanderVeen (and his amazing staff) and Becky Yoder for the use, set-up and tear-down of equipment for this large event.
Food Services: Aaron Chew and his helpful staff for providing us with the hot drinks necessary to energize our participants for a day of service.
IT: Duane David for making sure we could communicate our message loud and clear to our nearly 350 participants.
Media Technologies and Communications: Kelly Armbruster, Klaas Kwant and Derek DeVries for continuing to do an amazing job documenting the greatness of GRCC students, staff, and faculty.
