[Updated] The Blackboard Transaction system will be taken down next week Friday, 5/13/2011 at 5:30 p.m. for a required update. All door and parking access will continue to work, however printing will be down during this maintenance window. This update will be completed by 6:30 p.m.

On Monday, May 9, 2011 Lisa Frieburger (a candidate for the position of Vice President for Finance & Administration) will be on campus to deliver a presentation and participate in an open forum at 9:30 a.m. in the Calkins Science Center auditorium.
The presentation will be recorded and streamed later for those who are unable to attend.

GRAND RAPIDS — I had the opportunity to sit down with newly appointed Grand Rapids Community College athletic director Charlie Wells for a one-on-one discussion in his first week on the job. Wells, 53, is a former Grand Rapids Junior College national champion wrestler, longtime wrestling coach at the school and a full-time instructor in the wellness department at his alma mater. (More)

Hold the Date of June 2, 2011 for a special retirement celebration for Liz Timmer. The college will celebrate Liz’s 33 years of service on June 2 in the Multipurpose Room of the Student Center from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. A brief program will be held at 3:30 p.m.
GRCC’s Education Department recently served as a location for a diaper drive held by the Salvation Army Booth Services Teen Parent program that brought in over 1,700 diapers. Kudos to all from the GRCC community who participated in the overwhelming success!
