GRAND RAPIDS — Rob Bliss is a little stressed out. Weather reports that change daily aren’t making life any easier for the 22-year-old city event planner. Bliss — who has organized community events that include zombie walks, sidewalk chalk floods, his “100,000 Paper Airplanes and Melodies Over Monroe” ArtPrize entry and the “world’s largest” 500-foot inflatable urban water slide that drew thousands of participants each — hosts his first event of the year on Sunday, the Grand Rapids Lip Dub video.  (More)

Raider Baseball AND Softball Teams in NJCAA Quarterfinals

The Raider Baseball team plays Friday morning in the quarterfinals of the Region XII NJCAA National Baseball Tournament in Battle Creek. They play Cuyahoga Community College.  (More Info)

The Raider Softball team plays this morning in the quarterfinals of the District G NJCAA National Softball Tournament. Not sure where, but they play this morning. They play Kalamazoo Valley Community College.  (More Info)

More Details on Fountain St. Ramp Cleaning

Starting Monday, May 16th, the Lyon St parking ramp, Student section with entrance off from Bostwick, will be closed for cleaning. The student section will be closed Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday. Students will need to park in the Bostwick St ramp with entrance off of Ransom and Fountain.
Faculty and staff that park in the lower levels of the Lyon Ramp (entrance off from Lyon St.) please park AWAY from the center (cabled) area. This is needed so your vehicle does not receive any run-off from the upper levels during the power washing.
Starting Thursday 5/19, the staff section (entrance off of Lyon) will be closed. Faculty and staff will need to park in the student section Thursday and Friday. The entrance to the student section is on Bostwick.

National Employee Fitness Day Reminder

Monday, May 16 is National Employee Fitness Day and the WE Team is hosting some fun ways to be fit. Come to the Raider Grill between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to get a sampling of some activities that can help you be fit and healthy. Here’s the schedule:

11-11:30 a.m. Zumba
11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Line Dancing
12:30-1 p.m. Resistance Mashup
1:15-1:45 p.m. Stretch & Flex

There will be door prizes drawn for those who participate. Throughout this time, Chef Nancy, from Creative Dining, will also show you how to make smoothies featuring yogurt as well as seasonal fruits. Yes, you’ll be able to taste them and copies of the recipes will be available.
