Grand Rapids examines how to drive the next $1 billion in investment on the Medical Mile

More than a decade and $1 billion after the Medical Mile began rising out of the Michigan Street hill in downtown Grand Rapids, city leaders are looking at how to keep the growth going and how best to accommodate and manage it. On news program E:60 on Tuesday, ESPN aired a feature on Casey Therriault, the former Wyoming Park quarterback who was one of five men implicated in the Jan. 2008 beating death of Jonathon “Jono” Krystiniak. After being convicted of manslaughter and serving six months in jail, Therriault’s second chance began at Grand Rapids Community College. (More)

BEREA, Ohio — Marcus Benard was just starting his football career at Grand Rapids Community College when Kellen Winslow had his career-altering motorcycle crash in spring of 2005. If he had lived through Winslow’s ordeal, Benard might have thought twice about riding a motorcycle during the season. (More)
