Student Employment Services sponsors The Anchor Award, which is a monthly award that recognizes Student Employees for contributions to their department and to the college based on a different trait/skill each month. The nomination quality for November was Noble Character.
The Anchor Award Winner for November is Betsy Philpott. Betsy is an Office Assistant in the Academic Support Center and was nominated by Laurie Witczak, who wrote that:
“It is impossible to completely describe the Noble spirit that Betsy brings with her to work each day in only a few words. Betsy is a multi talented individual that leads our office with pride and compassion that goes above and beyond her expected duties. Able to deal with multiple, competing demands she “runs the wheel” in an office that supports 600 student appointments each semester. She is the first person that students see and whether there is one student or a line out the door, Betsy treats each student with respect, kindness and patience. Providing quality and consistent services to everyone while attending to phones, tutor matches and difficult unexpected problems makes Betsy the definition of noble character.”
Congratulations Betsy!
Next month’s recognized skill/trait is Change/Adaptability. If you would like to nominate a deserving Student Employee, please contact Chris Allen at callen@grcc.edu or extension 3738.
Betsy is the one in the middle wearing the hat 🙂
