GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The perception that faculty at Grand Rapids Community College have high salaries has been a sticking point when the college has asked voters to approve bond proposals in the past. Now, with the college asking voters to approve a 20-year, 0.35 property tax increase, the college has taken steps to address questions over faculty salaries. The bond, which would collect $98.6 million, would cost the average homeowner about $26 a year for the next 20 years.  (More)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Grand Rapids Community College and the GRCC Faculty Association announced on Monday that they have reached a tentative contract agreement. Mott CC golf team places second despite strong winds at Grand Rapids CC Invitational

ADA, MI – The individual golf scores at the Egypt Valley Country Club were sky-high on Monday evening. Due to the fast winds, the 10 junior college squads competing in the Grand Rapids Community College Invitational were forced to adjust. Mott Community College placed second in the event behind the host GRCC who ended with 321. The Bears finished three strokes back with 324.  (More)

Muskegon Community College considering tuition increase, faculty pay freeze

MUSKEGON, MI — Muskegon Community College may raise tuition by 6 percent and freeze instructor pay for the 2012-2013 school year. […] MCC now charges $81.50 per credit hour for tuition. If the board votes to raise tuition by 6 percent, that would rise to $86.39 per credit. That’s lower than Grand Rapids Community College’s $95.50 per credit hour rate, but higher than Montcalm Community College’s $83 per credit hour rate.  (More)
