GRCC hosted the second annual School of Workforce Development Occupational Advisory Committee luncheon to celebrate committee members’ contributions to program and curriculum improvement at GRCC for our occupational programs. Dr. Ender and Dave Muir, President of Paragon Die and Engineering, spoke and showcased the new AMP program (Advanced Manufacturing Program).
On May 8, at the Grand Rapids Public Library, President Ender read a book to our preschool children and other people in our community. This event was put together to highlight the importance of early childhood. Thank you President Ender.
Staff Development is encouraging staff and students to participate in Active Commute Week – leave the car at home and Ride the Rapid, bike, roller blade or long board into GRCC! The Active Commute Week Challenge is a weeklong competition for businesses and individuals in Greater Grand Rapids from Monday, May 14 to Friday, May 18 at noon.
Challenge participants include: Amway, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Rapids Public Schools, Grand Valley State University, Meijer, Metro Health, Priority Health, Steelcase, and West Michigan Bike and Fitness.

Voter turnout for Grand Rapids Community College bond looks low across Kent County

KENT COUNTY, MI – Voter turnout appears to be “very, very light” across Kent County this morning, according to several city clerks. Through the first four-and-a-half hours of polling in Cedar Springs, for example, 26 people had voted. (More)
