Staff Development is encouraging staff and students to participate in Active Commute Week – leave the car at home and Ride the Rapid, bike, roller blade or long board into GRCC! The Active Commute Week Challenge is a weeklong competition for businesses and individuals in Greater Grand Rapids from Monday, May 14 to Friday, May 18 at noon.
Challenge participants include: Amway, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Rapids Public Schools, Grand Valley State University, Meijer, Metro Health, Priority Health, Steelcase, and West Michigan Bike and Fitness.
Commuters track online how often they commute to and from work using active transportation:
- cycling
- walking (including running, wheelchair, skating, boarding)
- riding the bus
- carpooling and vanpooling
Please join us in the Multi-Purpose Room (Room 108) in Sneden Hall on Tuesday May 15, 2012 from 10:30AM-12:00 PM. No pre-registration necessary. Officer Tony Myers will teach basic bike safety to keep you safe on the roads while commuting to work!
I would like to participate in this. Where do you track this on line?
