Yesterday GRCC teamed up with the State of Michigan’s Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for a resource fair for military veterans and their families. The Veterans Resources Fair took place in Sneden Hall, and was very well-attended.
Well done GRCC! For those who actively commuted this week – we wrapped up the week with National Bike to Work Day today! In front of GRCC’s Sneden Hall was a Rally Point and we had a great time drinking coffee with active commuters this morning – including the Mayor!
Don’t forget that tonight is Active Commute Week Live at the Rapid Bus Station with bands, awards for the most active commuters, the Mayor of Grand Rapids and of course some pizza!
Loretta Antoine, wife of former GRCC employee Howard Antoine wanted to send in this message of thanks for the outpouring of support that followed his recent passing.
“We wish to thank all those who sent cards to Howard during his illness. They meant so much to him. Now his family is grateful for the condolences we have received since for our loss.” –Loretta and Howard’s Family.
Howard started working for GRCC in 1987 and recently had retired and was working part time.

The deadline for the submission of grant applications for the Support Staff Professional Development (SSPD) program is 4:30 p.m., May 18, 2012. The SSPD application packet and SSPD Guidelines are available in the Professional Development Grants section of the Grants Office website at grcc.edu/sspdgrants. Please note that applications must include a Supervisor’s Approval form, a budget form and budget documentation.
