Muskegon Community College President Dale Nesbary to receive pay increase

MUSKEGON — Muskegon Community College President Dale Nesbary is getting a $10,000 pay bump. The MCC Board of Trustees voted unanimously this week — one trustee, Ann Oakes, was absent — voted to increase Nesbary’s pay to $155,000, despite his request that his pay remain unchanged. […] Salary figures, collected by MCC, show Nesbary’s total compensation was less than that of many community college presidents, including at West Shore Community College, Montcalm Community College, and Grand Rapids Community College. Thanks to Rescue U, humane society animals get new digs

We tend to joke that there are two seasons in Michigan, winter and construction. It’s clearly construction season, and not just on the roads. The Humane Society of West Michigan announced recently it had received a $20,000 grant from Petfinder Foundation’s Rescue U for renovations. HSWM has had student volunteers from Grand Valley State University, Central Michigan University, Michigan State University, Grand Rapids Community College and Kettering University (in Flint) at its facility all week to perform the renovations.
