This morning, GRCC’s visit by the Site Visit Team from the Michigan Quality Council kicked off with remarks by Dr. Ender in the ATC Auditorium. The Site Visit Team will be on campus from Sept 10 to Sept 12. During their visit they will “verify and clarify” the information we cited in our Michigan Quality Leadership Award application last spring. The application process is a requirement of our accreditation process for the North Central Association/Higher Learning Commission. More information available here.

GRCC Library is Looking for Your Favorite Banned Books
Every year, the American Library Association sponsors a Banned Books Week to celebrate the freedom to read and the First Amendment. Last year, the library curated a digital collection of staff and student favorite banned book titles and it was so successful, we want to do it again! This year we will be extending the collection by curating it across the library’s blog, Facebook page, Pinterest and Tumblr accounts. We’ll be curating the collection through the month of October.
If you’d like to participate, please submit by September 25: the book title, author, and a paragraph or two about why you love that particular banned book to Lisa Rabey. Please feel free to submit more than one title! We will also accept multiple submissions on the same book since everyone has a different perspective.
