Sheriff’s office welcomes new deputy – Nic Weemhoff got the job nearly 100 applied for

IONIA COUNTY — Nic Weemhoff is the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office newest road deputy. Weemhoff joined the department six weeks ago. Weemhoff was most recently an officer with the Lowell Police Department. Before that he was with the Newago Police Department and the Kent County Park Police. He is a graduate of the police academy at Grand Rapids Community College.  (More)

Prolific fundraiser will leave Grand Rapids Community College for education post in Indiana

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The head of Grand Rapids Community College’s foundation has accepted a job as chancellor with a community college in Indiana. Andy Bowne, who in addition to leading the GRCC foundation served as vice president for college advancement, will begin his new job as chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College’s East Central Region on Oct. 8.  (More)
