My Degree Path Coming 10/15/12

Have your students ever wondered:
What classes do I still need to graduate?
What if I change my major?
How do I plan what courses to take next semester?

Introducing, a tool to help students stay on a clear path to graduation!  Starting October 15 they will be able to log into their Online Student Center accounts and access this tool.
My Degree Path is a web-based tool designed to help you stay on a clear path to graduation.   It enables students and advisers to review coursework – past, present, and future – and evaluate which degree requirements are completed and which remain.

My Degree Path will:

  • Provide real-time advice, 24/7
  • Outline a path to graduation for a specific GRCC program
  • Allow for the creation of semester by semester degree plan
  • Provide self-service capabilities
  • Allow exploration of other GRCC programs (what if)
  • Allow direct access to multiple related services and advice

Microsoft Endpoint (SCCM) Upgrade Deadline is Monday 10-15-12

Starting Monday October15th Microsoft Endpoint (SCCM) will automatically be installed on any computer still running Symantec Endpoint protection. You still have time to do this yourself from the Application Explorer on your Desktop, though you must be on a GRCC Network for this to work. Anyone still needing to be upgraded but is not regularly on campus please take the time to do this while you are here at GRCC or contact IThelp@grcc.edu to schedule an appointment. Starting Monday, any computers that have not been upgraded will be done automatically.

What this means to you…
This upgrade will improve the performance of computers by limiting the amount of system resources that the anti-virus software uses. This means that, even though your computer is protected and being scanned for infections, you should no longer notice performance issues related to these scans. This upgrade also allows for enhanced reporting, which will allow the IT team to respond to infections more quickly and effectively.

Staff/Faculty…
Install Microsoft Endpoint (SCCM) at any time from the Application Explorer folder on your computer’s desktop.
During this installation, there will be no progress bar or any other windows displayed. You may receive alerts from the computers Action Center saying that your computer is unprotected. Ignore these warnings; they will go away once the installation is completed.

Questions…
If you need further assistance, experience any problems during the installation, or end up with both Symantec and Microsoft Endpoint Protection on your computer, please contact IT Customer Support at 234-4357 or email ITHelp@grcc.edu with details.
