U.S. Air Force band brings free concert to GR

One of the twelve bands in the U.S. Air Force will be in Grand Rapids Friday giving a free concert. The USAF Band of Flight Concert Band will be back in West Michigan for the first time since 2007 when they were here performing at President Ford’s funeral. Grand Rapids Community College and The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation and Museum have teamed up to make the concert possible.

UPDATE 8:15 am: The suspicious package found near GRCC turned out to be construction equipment, and was not a threat. Police are re-opening the streets and allowing people back into the area. GRCC classes will begin again starting at 11:30 am.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A suspicious box found near the Grand Rapids Community College campus and Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital caused a huge commotion this morning, but turned out to be a plastic tote left by construction workers.
