Land Crabs Hit the Ground for the first time ever in SICE

Introducing Freddie Lightbourn.

Born on the sun-drenched island of New Providence in the Bahamas, Chef Freddie Lighhtbourne began his career at the original Poop Deck Restaurant in Nassau, Bahamas.  He worked part-time on weekends and during local holidays until he finished high school, when he decided to take the restaurant business seriously and become part of the family-owned venture.  The Poop Deck Restaurant is situated on the deck of the Bahamas Yacht Haven and serves exceptional local Bahamian specialties.

Jay Smith, a long time friend and supporter of the SICE, along with Chef Angus Campbell have brought Chef Lightbourne state-side to showcase his expertise to our students throughout the entire week in CA 114.  He will be preparing a special presentation for 55 students on Friday in our new Amphitheater.

In these pictures, Chef Lightbourne is demonstrating the preparation of live land crabs and conch fritters to our students.
