Information sessions set in January 2013 for Medical Assistant program

Information sessions are scheduled in January 2013 for the Medical Assistant program.

The program will prepare you to perform administrative and clinical tasks that keep health practitioner offices running smoothly. The course, which starts January 21, combines lectures, group activities, simulations and an externship experience. It prepares you for the Medical Assistant national certification exam.

Information sessions are scheduled for:

  • 5-6 p.m. January 7 in room 108 of Patrick A. Thompson M-TEC.
  • 4-5 p.m. January 15 at Leslie E. Tassell M-TEC.

Networks Matter 2.0 starts in February 2013

Networks Matter 2.0 is unlike any training you have ever taken! Not only does it provide the tools to build stronger professional relationships through communication, social networking and technology, it also help develop a strategy for developing a professional network.

The workshops are designed to help those wanting to advance professionally, the unemployed or under-employed, and people with low to moderate technology skills. The sessions feature group meetings, presentations, online activities and attendance at community events. If you sign
up for the entire four-session series, you will receive two hours of personal and professional coaching.

Classes run 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays, starting February 12, 2013, at Leslie E. Tassell M-TEC. They cost $155 for the entire series or

The Dental Assisting Club is having its annual toothbrush and white-strip sale! White-strips and brushes are in stock, so email Julie Bera at jbera@grcc.edu to place your order and schedule a pick up or delivery for exam week.

Here’s what’s available:

  • Oral-B Advantage Control Grip adult toothbrushes, full and compact head (35 or 40).
  • Oral-B children’s sizes, Stage 3 and Stage 4.
  • Crest Professional Strength Whitestrips (not available in retail).

Toothbrushes may be purchased by the dozen or half-dozen orders only: $10 for a dozen and $5 for a half-dozen. Whitestrips are $30.  We accept cash or checks made out to GRCC.
