Are you interested in working in the advanced energy storage manufacturing world? GRCC’s Battery Manufacturing Operator Training course will prepare you for entry-level employment in manufacturing, especially focusing on battery (advanced energy storage) manufacturing.
The intensive 12-week course includes:
- computer competency.
- clean room simulations.
- safety certifications.
- problem solving and innovation skills.
- battery chemistry.
- electricity fundamentals.
You will have the opportunity to earn an OSHA 30-hour certification and the MSSC national certificate for manufacturing production — a certificate that is recognized by manufacturers in 16 states. You also will have the ability to earn the GRCC Battery Manufacturing certificate.

GRCC also has a course for those with at least two years of experience in manufacturing. By taking the Battery Manufacturing – Experienced in Manufacturing course, you will learn the fundamentals of lithium ion battery chemistry and electricity, safety, clean room technology with elements of innovative thinking/problem solving and lean manufacturing. This knowledge will give you an advantage in obtaining entry-level work in an industry new to West Michigan.
Participants in this course will have the opportunity to earn an OSHA 30-hour general industry certification and a GRCC Battery Operator Certification. Sessions for this class run 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. January 21 to February 21. To register, click here.
