The Business Department will be hosting a Career Showcase event on February 18 and 19, 2013. The purpose of this event is to introduce various business career options to students. The Showcase sessions will help students explore different career options including:
- business administration.
- fashion merchandising.
- interior decorating and design.
- management and supervision.
- office administration.
Each session will be hosted by a Business Department faculty member, and many will include professionals currently employed in the field of study. The sessions will cover:
- an overview of the program of study.
- degree opportunities at GRCC and transfer options.
- employment opportunities.
- success stories.
- program projects.
- co-ops, if available.
- questions and answers.
Each career session will last approximately 30 minutes and will be offered at the following times on February 18 and 19, 2013:
- 9:00 a.m.
- 1:30 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m.
All business classes that are ongoing at these times will be suspended so that students can attend the Career Showcase. Students are encouraged to attend as many of the career sessions as possible to learn about different career options. To help students understand not only the business program requirements but transfer options, graduation requirements, and their current academic standing the Career Showcase will also host sessions on these topics titled:
- My Degree Path.
- graduation audits.
These sessions will include professions from GRCC Counseling and Career Center and Business Faculty.
All students who attend will be included in a random drawing for prizes including a $500 scholarship at GRCC next semester.
