The federal growth program aimed at helping high school students learn the skills to succeed through high school and college received local funding of up to $120,000 in January.

Vanessa Juárez ya podrá graduarse sin inconvenientes en el Grand Rapids Community College y conducir sin temor hasta allá, gracias a que el presidente Barack Obama ordenó el mes de junio del año pasado el programa Acción Diferida, conocido como DACA, una alternativa al proyecto de ley Dream Act que el Congreso fracasó en aprobar debido a la oposición de los legisladores conservadores. Vanessa fue traída a los Estados Unidos por sus padres a la edad de 7 años. Nunca pudo tener un número de Seguro Social porque sus padres eran indocumentados, pero si pudo ir a la escuela desde la elemental hasta la High School, debido a que las leyes en estados Unidos prohíben que se le niegue educación a un niño por asuntos inmigratorios.
Planned Parenthood: Condom Pops for Valentines Day

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Planned Parenthood will be giving out more than 6,000 condom pops during the month of February.
… The items will be handed out at PPWNM health centers, free of charge. PPWMN will also pass out the condom pops at select community venues, including Grand Rapids Community College on Feb. 12.
