A huge international thank you to the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education’s student team and the instructors and staff for all the hours of coaching, hard work and dedication in preparation for the 2013 World Culinary Grand Prix.

Our seven-student team came home with 14 medals. No gold medals were awarded to any international teams in this difficult World Association of Chefs Societies-sanctioned event, which was held in Glasgow, Scotland.

Team members were: Abby Krampe, Chris Montgomery, Ramon Silguero, Elizabeth Stammen and Kirsten Weber, with Karri Cagney and Desirae Visser as individual competitors. They were coached and encouraged by staff members Sasha Ahmed, Audrey Heckwolf and Angus Campbell.

SICE’s medal roster:

  • Meat Dish Competition (Karri) – bronze.
  • Shellfish Dish Competition (Desirae) – silver.
