GRCC men’s basketball team poised to keep winning streak intact at national tourney

GRAND RAPIDS — After a five-hour bus ride, the Grand Rapids Community College men’s basketball team arrived in Danville, Ill. on Monday, March 18 to begin preparations for this week’s National Junior College Athletic Association Division II national tournament.

Grand Rapids — Latino voting in the 2012 election, “The Color of Christ,” and a roundtable discussion on Hispanic education in West Michigan will all be part of this year’s Race, Ethnicity and Identity Conference at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) March 25-28, sponsored by GRCC, its Social Sciences Department and the International Geographical Honor Society.

The 7th annual Teaching, Learning, and Technology Showcase is TODAY!

Join your colleagues from 1-4 today (March 20th) in 108 Sneden Hall to learn something new, connect with faculty across campus, and to explore innovative ideas that integrate technology into teaching and learning.

Personal Trainer Certification Course starts April 2013

If you enjoy helping others and are passionate about good health, you could become a certified personal trainer!

GRCC’s Personal Trainer Certification Course gives you hands-on, interactive learning opportunities, including knowledge of overall wellness components. Our training prepares you to take the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) Certification exam. The exam fee and a one-year membership in the National Strength and Conditioning Association are included in the tuition. A competency-based, 36-hour internship gives you real-life skills application.

Many people who receive the NSCA Personal Trainer certification go on to work in an entry-level position at a fitness center, health club, or corporate wellness department. You can even start your own business!
