GRCC’s three-day NATE Tower Climber Fall Protection Training Standard course is designed for tower erectors, maintenance and service companies. Those who successfully complete it receive Authorized Climber, Competent Climber and Competent Rescuer certifications. This course is pass/fail only and Competent Climber and Rescuer Certifications are given only following 90 documented climbing days.
Using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques, students will learn the skills necessary to work on and around towers. They receive instruction in the operation of several forms of rescue devices, fall arrest systems and rescue procedures. Most of the training is performed in an indoor training facility that offers a controlled environment to focus on skills, build confidence and strengthen abilities. The course includes both classroom and intensive hands-on instruction.
