MICUP is a Transfer Transition Program that is housed in Michigan Tech’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion. The program offers community college students a summer research internship that addresses the opportunities and challenges at a four-year institution.
The program targets community college students, focusing on the following areas of study:
· Biology
· Business
· Computer Science
· Engineering
· Math
· Physics
· Sciences
· Technology
GRCC had 12 students participate in the 2013 MICUP Summer Research Internship Program beginning the first week of May and continued through June:
Breanna Cook, Travis Slooter, Yolanda Cruz-Olguin, Rolando Bocanegra, E Yasmine Walton-Durst, Antonia Garcia, Keyler Lerchen, Ashley Fox, Andrew Janke, Benjamin McClellan, SyQuan Tran, and Binu Baral.
GRCC TRiO/SSS would like to thank Professor Sarah Krajewski for her participation in the 2013 MICUP Partner’s Meeting at Michigan Technological University June 18 – June 21, 2013. Professor Krajewski’s immense enthusiasm, commitment to student growth, and candor endeared to the students. The MICUP Partner’s Meeting was attended by representatives from Delta College, Wayne County Community College, Michigan Tech, and LSAMP (Louise Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation).
