Heritage Theatre Group presents David Mamet’s ‘American Buffalo’

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — On Aug. 1, The Heritage Theatre Group will light up the stage with practical lighting fixtures for David Mamet’s “American Buffalo.” Come sit in the junk shop with Don, Teach, and Bobby as they plan a heist to steal a customer’s valuable coin collection.

… This premiere will be at Grand Rapids Community College’s Spectrum Theater at 160 Fountain St. and will not be a typical black box production. The audience is encouraged to sit in and around the junk shop with the characters, creating a feel of a theatre in the round.

Kupres takes part in state All-Star game

EAST LANSING — There were no awards handed out for loudest cheering section at the Michigan Softball Coaches Association Division 4 All-Star game.

… “I’ve always known about this game and heard some stories, but I never really thought I would get a chance to play in it. I was super excited to be playing alongside some of the best players from Division 4.” (Nikki) Kupres, a catcher who is slated to play for Grand Rapids Community College next season, didn’t start the game. But she did play more than half of the contest, catching the final four innings of the seven-inning affair.
