GRAND RAPIDS, MI–(Marketwired – Aug 14, 2013) – Restaurant Week Grand Rapids kicks off in Grand Rapids, Michigan today. The event spearheaded by Experience Grand Rapids was developed in 2010 to profile the scores of quality locally owned farm-to-fork restaurants that are also making Grand Rapids grow in culinary stature and reputation.

… “Another benefit of Restaurant Week Grand Rapids is that it keeps on giving back to the community,” says Small. “Not only are all of the participating restaurants able to shine, but $1 from every Restaurant Week meal sold during the event will be donated by each of the participating restaurants to a student scholarship fund at Secchia Institute for Culinary Education at Grand Rapids Community College. This year we hope to raise $20,000 to add to the fund. Many of Secchia Institute’s students decide to stay in the community and some of them develop into masterful chefs growing Grand Rapids culinary talent.”
