Wellness professor participates in ‘Healthier Classrooms’ conference

Wellness Department Professor Melanie Schiele Gady presented at the “Healthier Classrooms Healthier Kids” Conference (Sponsored by Kent ISD, MSU Extension, and the Kent County Health Coalition). The topic: “Movement 101”. The presentation specifically talked about how movement helps with the Affective, Cognitive and Psychomotor Domains of learning, right brain/left brain activities, scientific data on how movement actually helps the brain “fire” and allows all human beings to be more productive, more focused, and learn better, the Obesity Epidemic and the effects of obesity, and then Melanie also put this fine group through a work out.
