Merry Anne Barrows, a teacher and counselor who loved the theater, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.
… Her education included a Ph.D. in psychology from Michigan State University. She worked as a teacher in the Grand Rapids area and in Wisconsin. She also taught at Grand Rapids Junior College and was active in the development of the Counseling Center.

Kyle Amanda Dutkiewicz is fully aware of the controversy that surrounds Andrew Jackson and his actions. Her father, Ken, a former history teacher, has a fascination with Jackson, giving Dutkiewicz insight into the seventh president of the United States. It was Dutkiewicz’s father who first discovered and saw the New York production of Bloody, Bloody, Andrew Jackson; and when he couldn’t stop talking about it, she became intrigued with the musical.
