5 community colleges to let auto students transfer

LANSING, Mich. — Five Michigan community colleges are partnering on a pilot program to let students in automotive technology programs transfer among the schools without losing credits or having to repeat course work.
Delta College, Grand Rapids Community College, Lansing Community College, Montcalm Community and Mott Community Colleges have signed the agreement. It was announced Friday by Nigel Francis, the state’s senior automotive adviser.
Higher education giving reaches record levels

Muskegon’s Dancing with the Local Stars has all the right moves

Coach Ron Welch was pretty sure that the drubbing that his team took earlier this league season at Lake Michigan was an anomaly. Today they proved it with a gritty 62-56 win over the No. 6-ranked Redhawks to move into first place in the Western conference of the MCCAA by a half game.
… “It’s a good day to be a Cougar!” exclaimed Welch. “I’m really proud of this group. That’s a terrific basketball team we beat today. Our effort was awesome! I wouldn’t be surprised to see a rematch down the road in post season, but today we’re going to enjoy this one, then focus on GRCC.”
